The fake reality of networking

Networking is not collecting business cards.
Networking is not adding connections on LinkedIn.
Networking is not quantity of people you know.
Think about it. How many times have you exchanged cards at an event, only to never hear from that person again?
Or worse,
how many of those cards end up gathering dust in a forgotten drawer?
So, it's not about the cards you collect, but the connections you cultivate that define your networking success.
Let's be brutally honest here: sending out endless connection requests without any context or genuine intention is not networking. It's spamming.
Networking is about building relationships, mutual respect, and creating opportunities for collaboration and growth.
It's not about boosting your ego with a high connection count.
Networking is not about the quantity of people you know:
Networking isn't a popularity contest. It's about the few power players in your circle.
So, build your network like a team of trusted allies, not like a crowded marketplace of strangers.
Because quality connections are the backbone of networking success; the rest is just empty numbers!
